# Varda Yatom — Ceramic Sculptor

> Internationally recognized Israeli ceramic sculptor examining the relationship between personal identity and culture, symbolism and meaning, aesthetics and morality.

Varda Yatom is based in Kibbutz Sasa, Northern Israel. Born in Holon, she holds an MFA from Alfred University, New York State College of Ceramics (1987–1989), where her mentor was Tony Hepburn. Her sculpture and installations employ organizational patterns of human ceremony — seemingly recognizable, yet upon interpretation revealing layers of meaning hidden beneath the familiar.
